Battlefield 6 beta players went all out and destroyed a whopping $70 billion worth of in-game objects in only one weekend. This destruction was not just random shooting but blowing up buildings, vehicles, and even structures.
To make all of this interesting, EA has brought a real engineering expert on board to figure out what all that damage would cost in the real world.
This made the game's destruction feel more real and fun, as players could then imagine the worth of chaos they caused and are causing.
EA introduced something new called the "Destruction Receipts" system, where after causing damage in the beta, players get a personal "receipt" showing exactly how much they have destroyed and how much they would be worth in real-world money.
To be part of this feature, games need to record a 30 second video clip of their destruction and post it on X or Instagram.
They are also supposed to tag #BF6Receipts and @battlefield so EA can officially count their damage toward the total. this turns every explosion into a fun competition between players.
EA set a community goal for all players: cause $1 trillion worth of destruction in the next beta weekend.
Once this goal is achieved, everyone who took part will unlock a special, limited-edition destruction-themed skin for the M60 light machine gun.
This skin won't be available later, so it is a rare prize that players really want. This is pushing the players to another level.
Until now, the community has managed to reach around $81 billion in total, which is only 8% of the $1 trillion target. With less than half the time left, it is going to be tough for the players.
Some players have concerns about the tracking system because EA is only counting destruction from submitted video clips; some damage might not be included.
This makes it harder for everyone to know the exact total destruction and could make the challenge even more difficult.
With all these new challenges and twists coming around, Battlefield 6 Beta has been receiving an incredible response from all around the world.
The return of familiar classes, the improved destruction mechanics, and smoother gameplay, everything adds up to the expectations of the fans.
More than 500,000 players have been playing Battlefield 6 at the same time on Steam, making it the biggest beta in Battlefield history.
It even beat the Call of Duty beta in terms of current players on Steam. EA has made this version of the beta a memorable event in the series' history. It is clear that Battlefield 6 is building excitement before its full release.
