Félix Lengyel, who is famously known to the world as xQc, was born on November 12, 1995, in Laval, Quebec. He grew up with his brother Nicolas after his parents separated when he was young, spending much of his childhood around video games.
Like many kids, he tried to balance his studies and his passions, first taking humanities, then administration, and later computer science at his local CEGEP college. But classrooms never managed to hold his focus for long.
What truly excited him were the hours that he spent at his computer, testing skills in different games and slowly realizing that gaming was not just a hobby it could be a future.
He began his journey to success by streaming League of Legends under the name xQcLoL, pulling in a very modest audience. Then came Overwatch, a game that perfectly matched his fast reflexes and high-energy style.
He then adopted the name xQcOW, and rose quickly through the ranks. By 2017, he was not just another streamer he was representing Team Canada on the world stage, leading them all the way to the Overwatch World Cup finals and taking home the MVP title. It was the first sign that Félix had something bigger ahead of him.
When the protective gear league started, xQc got his wish and worked with the Dallas Fuel. Life, however, at the professional league was much more difficult than Fantasyland.
He has a reputation of being unpredictable, fiery, and telling the truth with a cherry on top and his person was totally at odds with the esports world and its scathing rules.
He has a reputation of getting suspended quite a few times because of his “controversial commentary” and not so toxic behavior.
The Marth of 2018 however, was not so great because it was the the month that all Honolulu wrote about and it was the month that resulted in Dallas Fuel separating with him.
Most youngsters would have considered the situation disastrous, but Félix alternate Weston was so unique, that it was the start of something century great.
He decided against the option of being criticized, for his self rather. What he did was he transformed himself into something that was so unique, with all the Twitch restrictions out.
Yes, he was the loud and totally chaotic person that made jokes and jokes and was not at all apologetic. The chaos that loved him the most was the same that made him what he was.
People did not want him to be nice, they “demanded” the crude xQc, and that is what they received. He managed to get up after bans, controversies, and criticism on several occasions.
All of his failures became lessons, contributing to his evolution as a streamer that would go on to master the domain of Streaming Stardom and Record Viewership
When Félix committed fully to streaming, the numbers spoke for themselves. From 2020 to 2022, xQc was the single most-watched streamer on Twitch, racking up hundreds of millions of watch hours.
He broke records with massive peak audiences and built one of the largest fanbases on the platform, with more than 12 million followers.
What made xQc different was that he wasn’t trying to play a role. His streams were messy, loud, sometimes controversial but always real.
In a world where so much content feels filtered or planned, his unpredictability was refreshing. Fans never knew what to expect, and that’s exactly why they kept coming back.
Much to the amaze of gamers, xQc signed a non-exclusive deal with Kick, reportedly worth $70 million, with a non-exclusive deal signed with Kick in June 2023.
There were claims that the deal could escalate past $100 million, depending on the performance bonuses that could be awarded. To put it into perspective, that deal placed him alongside the most elite people in the entertainment industry.
It was most certainly more than a mere financial earn. Kick let him maintain a level of creative control that he valued, especially after all the criticism of being “too much” elsewhere.
It was proof that his style raw, unfiltered, and at times, controversial was more than just popular. It was powerful enough to prove that the entire streaming industry needed a shakeup.
With xQc's unrivaled success, he has managed to place himself as one of the richest streamers in existence. Forbes valued his net worth to be around $70 million in 2024, While Celebrity Net Worth argues much lower, at $50 million.
However, the most insightful worth may be the one which has him far higher in number. During a live stream with MrBeast, while in a lie-detector segment, xQc, rather nonchalantly, stated that he possessed more than $100 million worth of cryptocurrencies.
Reactions on the internet split, some calling his crypto business smarts praiseworthy and others bemoaning the lack of charity.
Personal life and public controversy While achieving great success in his career, xQc continues to have a personal life that is equally as visible as his streams.
From 2017 to 2022, he was in a serious relationship with student and streamer Samantha “Adept” Lopez. The two did separate, and from there it only continued to get worse, with lawsuits claiming emotional distress and financial disputes in Texas and California.
In recent years, Félix “xQc” Lengyel quietly entered a new chapter of his personal life introducing his girlfriend to the world.
He shared moments with her in a YouTube video titled “I Got a Girlfriend”, where their interaction was presented in a lighthearted and genuine way, reflecting a more personal side of xQc beyond the chaos of streaming drama.
In xQc’s career another piece of controversy emerged in August 2024. While streaming on Kick with Adin Ross, xQc was seen with the former President of the United States, Donald Trump. The moment left many fans furious, as they claimed that xQc was trying to pushed a new political view.
The criticism came fast, and in response, Felix stated that he was not trying to support any political campaign, but instead wanted to join a prominent stream. Like many other public figures, everything he does is analyzed, argued about, and blown out of proportion.
No one gaming has gamed like xQc; his way of gaming has far reaching impacts on the whole community. He never misses his shot regardless of his entry point.
From Overwatch to Twitch, xQc has never missed a shot. He has goals, and he achieves them, one after the other.
