Valorant is one of the most played tactical games developed by Riot Games and comes with a ranking system to track player skills and their progress.

Like in most other ranked games, the skill tiers begin from the Bronze rank and progress to the most elite level, Radiant. New and inexperienced players might find the system a bit difficult to navigate, but after understanding the basics, it becomes easier.

Valorant Divisions Ranked Best to Worst

The ranking system starts from the Iron rank, where most players get placed after their placement matches. Players are then required to advance through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Ascendant in addition to Immortal.

Each rank barring Radiant has three tiers (e.g., Iron has three subdivisions: Iron 1, Iron 2, and Iron 3), which serve to ease players through their path to mastery. Graduating from each division unlocks additional features in a balanced manner.

Structure of the Matchmaking System

The system is meticulously designed to encourage players to rank up. One loss in a match will decrease Rank Rating (RR), while wins will reward players with it. An individual’s placed rank also matters, since it becomes crucial to personal performance in lower tiers.

Ensuring a strong individual game gets players the opportunity to rise in rank. Winning isn’t the only way to earn a higher rank, and players need to showcase their worth after every match.
