Elden Ring's world is also known as the Lands Between; it can feel big and confusing as you begin. When you start your game, the map is foggy, and it does not show any roads, landmarks, or secrets.
But in your journey, as you start collecting the map fragments, the fog starts to disappear, and a detailed map unfolds. This makes exploring much easier and guides you to play your journey safely. It is a very helpful tool to avoid being lost in this huge and magical land.
There are a total of 19 map fragments that are hidden across both the surface regions and the underground areas. Above the ground, you often find them near glowing stone slabs, which are called stele or beacons.
These shiny, glowy things make them easier to spot along the roads, and when you pick them up, they reveal everything you need to know in that region.
In places like Limgrave, Liurnia, Caelid, Altus, Plateau, Mountaintops of the Giants, and Leyndell, the fragments are usually placed beside the steles. You will often follow main roads or travel from a Site of Grace to find them. Once collected, the local map will guide you through everything.
Begin the game in the opening area. Follow the main road that is south from the Gatefront Ruins to find the stele near a camp.
After that, travel across the bridge east of Mistwood. The fragment is at the stele near the Minor Erdtree in Mistwood.
Now, head south across the Bridge of Sacrifice. The stele is right on the main road ahead.
From Stormveil Castle or its bypass, follow the main road north into Liurnia. The stele is placed near the Lake-Facing Cliffs.
At Liurnia North ride north along the eastern marsh road past the Raya Lucaria Academy. You will find the stele at the road
bend near the swamp.
Go west along the lake from the Temple Quarter. The fragment is at the stele near the Slumbering Wolf's Shack.
Head east from the Smoldering Church into Caelid. The stele lies by the road near the Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank.
Continue north through Caelid. The stele is at the road where Smoldering Wall meets Sellia Gateway.
Travel across the bridge north of Caelid into Dragonbarrow. The stele is near the Dragonbarrow Fork site of grace.
Use the Grand Lift of Dectus to enter Altus Plateau. The stele is at the forked road leading to Leyndell.
From Altus, cross the Bridge of Iniquity into Mt. Gelmir. The fragment lies west along the path near the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite.
Enter Leyndell from Altus Plateau. The map stele is on the main avenue near the Outer Wall Phantom Tree grace.
Take the grand Lift of Rold north. The stele lies along the road west near Zamor Ruins.
Continue east through the snowy region. The stele is found near the Giants' Gravepost grace.
Use the Haligtree Secret Medallion to unlock the Hidden Path to the Haligtree. The stele sits just ahead in the snowy field.
Travel deeper into Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. The fragment is found on the path near the Prayer Room grace.
It is not as easy as it sounds; all the fragments are not easily spotted. In underground areas like Siofra River, Deeproot Depths, Mohgwyn Palace, Ainsel River, and Lake of Rot, the fragments are often set on corpses or hidden in the ruins. They are not accompanied by glowing markers, so explorers need to search carefully.
Take the Siofra River Well in Mistwood. the fragment is on a corpse at a stele near the Siofra River Bank grace.
Enter through Ainsel River Well in Liurnia. Travel down to Uhl Palace Ruins, and the fragment is by a corpse near giant ants.
From Ainsel River Main, continue deep until you reach the Lake of Rot. The fragment sits near the Grand Cloister site of grace.
Use the hidden coffin transport from Ainsel or through the Nameless Eternal City. The map fragment is near the Great Waterfall Crest grace.
Reach via the Consecrated Snowfield teleporter or Varre's questline. The map fragment lies on a stele near the Dynasty Mausoleum Entrance grace.
Now, if you have finally unlocked all the fragment locations on the map, your full map will now finally show the key paths, secrets, and landmarks across Elden Ring's world. This will save you so much of your time and frustration and will help you to find the hidden locations, like secret dungeons or tough enemies that you need to fight off.
