EA has officially announced the departure of two major titles, FIFA 23 and Madden NFL 22, in October 2025. These 2 big news games will officially have their online servers closed down, and the fans are devastated.

This news indicates that the players will no longer have access to any multiplayer features, such as Ultimate Team or online matchmaking, after the shutdown dates.

FIFA 23

FIFA 23 is a football game that was developed by EA Sports, and it has been a part of the long-running FIFA series that has received an abundance of recognition all around the world.

This game lets players build their dream football teams and compete with others in the online mode and take part in the famous tournaments. This game offers an immersive and engaging football experience.

But now, EA has officially declared that the online servers for FIFA 23 will be shut down on October 30, 2025.

After this date, you can still enjoy modes like Career Mode, Kick-Off mode, and local multiplayer mode with your friends on the same device.

But everything connected to the internet will be shut down, like the Ultimate Team-making, online friends matches, and live content updates, which will no longer work.

An important fact about this is that FIFA 23 was the last FIFA game that was developed by EA Sports before the company rebranded the franchise as EA Sports FC.

Madden NFL 22

Madden NFL 22 is an American football video game that lets all the NFL fans play as their dream team, manage seasons, and compete online.

It consists of various features like lifelike visuals, team management, real matchups, and even player trades, thus offering a complete NFL experience.

EA announced the departure of this game by removing the online presence on October 20, 2025, ten days before FIFA 23.

The offline features of this game that are available are Franchise Mode, Exhibition Matches, or local multiplayer games on your console.

This act of shutting down games is EA's regular practice of ending support for older games that have fewer active players.

Why the Shutdown?

The core reason for the shutdown of EA games is decreasing active players that leaves the company no choice but to bid their goodbyes.

This gives them an opportunity to focus on newer and more popular game titles that will help them save resources and invest in futuristic ideas.

Alongside these two big games, Madden NFL 21 and several older mobile games are also experiencing their servers closing.

EA has always been more focused and open about streamlining their services and focusing more on their newer titles like EA Sports FC, Madden NFL 24, and others.

Conclusion

These two games are just a part of a larger list. EA has been shutting down online services for several of its titles throughout 2025. The list includes games like Madden NFL 21, FIFA Mobile, and other older EA Sports titles.

These games have departed from the online positions, but you can still play them and remember them by installing them, loading them, and playing them as long as you want.
