On Season-9 Public Test Realm, players discovered a powerful glitch with the Propulsion Catalyst combined with the Floaty-Bubble and Bloody-Charm Infusions. This weird competitor allowed the characters to somehow endlessly teleport by killing weak enemies and instantly resetting the cooldown for nonstop teleportation and super fast farming for all classes. It really felt like a cheat code take form.

Blizzard took prompt action to resolve the problem. Consequently, the teleport cooldown is no longer reset by Bloody Charm. Rather, it now provides a seventy percent increase in movement speed over five seconds. Compared to the previous infinite teleport mechanic, the cooldown of propulsion was significantly less disruptive, being reduced to roughly every three seconds at maximum rank.

Why Blizzard Acted So Fast ?

Systems designer Aislyn Hall explained that the teleport combo was overshadowing meaningfully different class gameplay and build diversity. Game designer Charles Dunn added that builds should feel unique rather than dominated by one exploit. The nerf was intended to preserve diverse and engaging playstyles.

Now that the teleport trick has been removed, the gameplay in Season 9 is more strategic and balanced. Although it only happens every few seconds, propulsion still teleports. Instead of allowing for endless blinking across the map, the Bloody Charm infusion now only provides a brief speed boost. This modification maintains the distinctiveness of various class builds while reintroducing a sense of challenge.

A necessary balance adjustment was the teleport nerf in Diablo 4 Season 9. Although the infinite teleport build was entertaining, it hindered gameplay and limited options. Instead of repeatedly using a single, overpowering mechanic, players now have to rely on carefully considered build design. Season 9 is still quick and thrilling, but it places more emphasis on strategy, diversity, and equity.
